True well-being starts with a choice of sustainable building material: solid wood. It's the most important renewable construction material resource and requires the least amount of energy for production.

The main source of material for BBS Solid Wood Panels comes from Austrian forests where about 30 million cubic meters of wood grow each year. Over a period of decades, the annual rate at which we consume wood is only about one third of its annual growth rate. This means a great deal more wood could be harvested without significantly diminishing the supply.

The use of a solid and durable natural material - combined with the advantages of thermal mass - provides a protective and comfortable surrounding environment.

BBS panel walls can be installed without vapor or wind barriers. Each layer of glue (4/10 mm) provides the equivalent diffusion resistance of a 35mm layer of Spruce, yet it remains open to diffusion. The wall is still able to “breathe” and absorb or release air moisture; therefore, performs as a moisture equalizer which adds comfort to the room environment.

BBS panels are made with wood harvested according to sustainable forest management. The Binder-Holz group is PEFC certified (# 06-35-20).
