Beach House designed by:
West Chin Architects , New York
In this project on Long Island, it was crucial to have maximum use of the allowed building height. This was achieved by using the solid wood panels as floor slabs (2nd and 3rd level) as well as for the roof. The large oceanfront view is unobstructed thanks to the span capability of the roof panels. The exposed sections of the panels are made of Douglas wood. Along with Larch, Douglas is a wood species better suited for outside exposure. |
